The Society of Alumni and Friends, the College of Health and Human Services' alumni organization, was established in September 1990. The Society is an official constituent of the Ohio University Alumni Association, and membership is free and open to all alumni and supporters of the College. Following are answers to some frequently-asked questions about the organization.
Who manages the business of the Society of Alumni and Friends (SAF)?
The organization is led by a 23-member board of directors, in cooperation with the dean of the College. The board is led by two elected officers, the president and vice president, who are chosen every two years by board members from among their 23 members. The president presides of board meetings and the vice president coordinates the filling of board vacancies.
How often do SAF board members meet?
The board meets formally twice each year, in the fall and spring, to conduct business. In addition, some board committees may meet informally throughout the year to plan ongoing activities.
