Accomplishments
All programs in Ohio University's School of Human and Consumer Sciences are accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. In addition, there are accreditations in specialized programs: dietetics, interior architecture, early childhood education, family and consumer sciences education.
The Atrium Café is a commercial establishment in Grover Center operated in conjunction with the Food, Nutrition and Hospitality program to provide experiential learning for students while also serving the campus and local communities.
The School's Honors Program, introduced in 2003, offers academically qualified students a more advanced and challenging educational experience in the study of human and consumer sciences.
Several faculty members have served international fellowships and visiting professorships.
The School's Nutrition Treatment Program contributes to wellness opportunities for Athens community members.
The School houses Ohio University's Mary C. Doxsee Costume and Textile Collection, composed of historic and ethnic apparel and textiles used for research and education.
