ABOUT THE SCHOOL  |  Accomplishments

  • All programs in Ohio University's School of Human and Consumer Sciences are accredited by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. In addition, there are accreditations in specialized programs: dietetics, interior architecture, early childhood education, family and consumer sciences education.
  • The Atrium Café is a commercial establishment in Grover Center operated in conjunction with the Food, Nutrition and Hospitality program to provide experiential learning for students while also serving the campus and local  communities. 
  • The School's Honors Program, introduced in 2003, offers academically qualified students a more advanced and challenging educational experience in the study of human and consumer sciences.  
  • Several faculty members have served international fellowships and visiting professorships. 
  • The School's Nutrition Treatment Program contributes to wellness opportunities for Athens community members. 
  • The School houses Ohio University's Mary C. Doxsee Costume and Textile Collection, composed of historic and ethnic apparel and textiles used for research and education.
