About the Facility
The Ohio University Neurolinguistics Laboratory is dedicated to the study of acquired neurogenic language disorders. Disorders under study include aphasia and aspects of brain injury, dementia, stroke and diabetes that affect people’s cognitive and communicative abilities. Research programs in the Laboratory focus on enhancing the quality of life for people with neurogenic communication disorders – and the people who are important to them – through improved understanding of their challenges and strengths.
In addition to its on-campus research space in Grover Center, the Laboratory has multiple affiliated clinical research sites, including the Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center (Cleveland, OH), the Ohio University Clinical Research Site in Columbus (Columbus, OH), the University of West Virginia School of Medicine (Morgantown, VA), the Stroke Comeback Center (Oakton, VA), and the Moscow Federal Center of Speech Pathology and Neurorehabilitation (Moscow, Russia).
