New sign-language club shows students want to extend their boundaries

The first “Ten Years Out” panel discussion at Symposium brought together five members of the MSA class of 1997 to reminisce and offer advice to current students and job seekers. The 97s show put their diversity of work experiences in the sport business industry on display featurnig: Kevin Abrams (pro player personnel), Michelle Wells.
 
Favorite memories of Athens were top of mind for the group and the Walter Hall crowd of nearly one hundred heard stories of Halloween parties, graffiti wall painting and in-class dating that have tied sports ad classes together since the start of the program. When asked what more they would have looked for from the OHIO.

Experience, the answers read like a current description of courses and opportunities. Guinta mentioned fundraising at the college level as a route to the AD’s suite. Wells said that big event experience is vital to figure out. That “processes are managed, but people are led.” Abrams mentioned integration of the athletic department and the opportunity to work football operations as something he wishes he could have had more of in Athens.
