Run on the Ridges
Run on The Ridges is held annually to raise money for the Joy Boyd Scholarship Fund. This award is given each year to a student who has shown evidence of his or her dedication to the School of Physical Therapy. Recipient selection is based on service, leadership, and involvement in the community and in professional organizations. Each year, Run on The Ridges is planned and hosted by the third year graduate students. The race is a 5K fun run and is held on the historic Ridges which was the old Athens Mental Facility. This is a beautiful, wooded site that makes a challenging run with paths that wind over the hills. Many OU students and Athens area residents participate in the run. Donations are made by local businesses to support the run. Use the form on the right side of this page to pre-register for the run.

Kidsfest
KidsFest is a service activity that usually occurs in the Spring (April).  It is sponsored by the City of Athens for the children. Students from the School of Physcial Therapy traditionally man the “wheelchair obstacle course” which was designed and made by faculty and students. It is a popular event at a very popular weekend.  Now, a pediatric screening by students/faculty has been added to our presentation at the event.

Parents Weekend
Parent's Weekend is held annually to raise money for the School of Physical Therapy's Research Fund. The Research Fund provides money for physical therapy students to purchase materials needed to complete their research capstone project and to travel to national conferences to present research or to further their professional education. The students in their second year of PT school plan and host the event. Last year, Parent's weekend included a tour of the PT school with presentations in the various labs, a lunch held at Baker Center, and a silent auction.
