Program Operational Plan

This program is hosted in an instructional facility provided by HKU SPACE in Hong Kong SAR planned to commence in October 2009 and ending in December 2010. The instructional plan for the Ohio Hong Kong MSA program is for each student to complete fifty-six credit hours (or 14 courses with four credit hours each) over a period of 16 months. OHIO will offer ten (10) courses and HKU SPACE will offer four (4) courses by its qualified faculty.

All the courses will be delivered in a blended format that combines an on-site conference with an online component in four blocks. The students start each block with an on-site conference. Each conference lasts about four days. During the conference, the students will receive 6-8 hour, face-to-face instruction to introduce a portion of the content of the courses within each block. The students will also have the opportunity to complete learning assessments and work on some skill areas that are best learned in a face-to-face environment. In each of the first three conferences, the students will be introduced to four different courses. There are only two courses in the last conference.

Following the conference, online instruction will commence for the first two courses in each block, the online instruction for the second two courses in the block commencing at the conclusion of the first two courses. The fourth block only involves two courses (see the Curriculum section for a detailed course delivery schedule).

The initial conference is planned to begin in October 2009. It is planned that students will complete the program in December 2010. The last conference may be held in Athens, Ohio or Hong Kong for a week in November 2010.
