A prospective student must meet the following admission standards to be considered for unconditional admission to the Ohio Hong Kong MSA program:
Hold a bachelor's degree from a college or university recognized by Ohio University in physical education, sport sciences, recreation
Minimum overall undergraduate g.p.a. of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale
Satisfactory TOEFL (i.e., 550 or above) or other English proficiency tests administered or approved by the Ohio Program of Intensive English (OPIE).
Satisfactory scores on the Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT). In lieu of the GMAT admission requirement, OHIO agrees to require the student to have the following for the first two cohorts of students
- A minimum of three years of experience in sports administration or related experience that will transfer to the sports business industry
- Three letters of recommendation, one of which must come from the immediate supervisor.
- A two-four page typed statement of professional goals that includes information about the applicant's background and experiences and how they relate to his/her future career goals. The statement should include a discussion of (a) the applicant's two most substantial accomplishments and why he/she views them as such; (b) a leadership situation in which the applicant was involved and what he/she learned from the experience, and (c) an ethical dilemma the applicant experienced and how he/she handled the situation.
