So, What Exactly IS Recreation Studies? The study of recreation is dynamic and interdisciplinary, drawing from other fields such as sociology, business, environmental studies, and many more.
What does this mean to you? It could mean...

So, how do you get there?
There are 2 majors in the Recreation Studies program:
• The ORE major will give you the tools to be a successful leader in the outdoor industry.
• The Rec Management
major focuses on the administration of federal, state, county, and municipal programs.
Is this for you?
Consider these questions…
• Does being in the outdoors inspire you?
• Do you enjoy leading & educating others?
• Are you a leader who enjoys working towards a common goal?
• Are communication & organization skills your assets?
• Do you like to multitask?
• Do you like to solve problems?
If you answered yes to any of these, explore & discover more about our programs and contact our Program Coordinator, Dr. Beth VanDerveer, who would be happy to help!
So you like recreation, but you are not sure if you want to be a major? How about a Recreation Minor?
